I ordered an AlienBees B800 strobe last week. I wanted to try it out, so I called in my posers. These guys did really good. Actually, it’s one guy and two girls… but they did really good anyway. They do great one at a time, but it’s a little more difficult to get them all three at the same time!
To get the photos, I plugged my light meter into the AlienBees, took a reading, adjusted the light down a little and set my camera as the light meter suggested. It was really pretty easy. I know it’s not easy to tell how well the pictures turned out in this image because it’s black and white, but I was really impressed.
Now I get to figure out exactly where I want to place the lights, get familiar with what results I get from which settings… and then get some human bodies to photograph.
