The BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma had it’s ribbon cutting and community open house Saturday morning, August 30th.
After the ribbon cutting, the community was invited to the arena for a day of music, $1.00 concessions, contests, interactive games and tours of the BOK Center. I was hoping to get a photo of the ribbon cutting but it was too crowded to get a good view. The Hanson Brothers and Garth Brooks were among the special guests. Garth Brooks spoke and I was fortunate enough to get a couple photos of him.
Once we got inside, a gentleman gave me some information on the amazing architecture and pointed out some Native American artwork in the flooring. The arena really is amazing. I’ve never been in anything quite like it. We explored the arena, inside and out. We listened to some good music from the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, a few high school marching bands, and The Fabulous Mid Life Crisis Band.
We already have tickets for So You Think You Can Dance Tour 2008 and Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco. I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of time, and money, at the BOK Center!
I don’t see Garth Brooks scheduled yet. Maybe next year.
